IS SATAN A MYTH OR A REALITY?

Some scientists have been led to Christian faith by grappling with the reality of evil.
Arecent survey revealed that 81 percent of Americans believe that angels exist and
influence people’s lives. But the survey also indicated that the majority of people
say that Satan is not a living being but a symbol of evil.Many in our society are
confused about Satan. A few years ago psychiatrist M. Scott Peck, who authored the remarkable bestseller The People Of The Lie, admitted, “In common with 99 percent of psychiatrists and the majority of the clergy, I did not think the devil existed.”But this perception may be changing. Many scientifically minded people are no longer so sure. Some, like Peck, have been led toward the Christian faith through their grappling with the reality of evil. Others, though speaking freely of the devil, do so in a non-Christian context. Ludwig Staudenmaier was a German scientist who accepted the Freudian idea that the devil was only a “myth,” a “personification of repressed, unconscious drives.” After completing his
doctoral work in chemistry, zoology, and theology, he became obsessed with a
desire to “explore the boundaries between the natural and the supernatural,
to allow the natural sciences to determine as accurately as possible the distinction
between pathology and actual satanic manifestations.” At the suggestion of a
friend, Staudenmaier began experimenting with the psychic technique known
as “automatic writing,” a phenomenon in which the subject learns how to place
himself into a trance and then permits unseen forces to write messages through
his hand. He soon became quite adept at automatic writing even though he
considered what he wrote to be the product of his subconscious mind.
Soon, however, he was disturbed by hallucinations, which rapidly increased in
both their frequency and severity. One night as he lay in his bed, he had the distinct
feeling of a chain being fastened around his neck and tightened. Then came the
strong odor of sulphur and a sinister voice saying, “You are now my captive. I will never free you. I am the devil.” Although still clinging to his scientific perspective,
Staudenmaier began to have second thoughts about his venture. He wrote:
There remains in my mind no doubt that according to a naive, medieval perspective
I have become possessed. Therefore, only two alternatives remain: Either I
am on the brink of understanding the puzzle of human existence from a new and entirely novel perspective, or I am a fool who has thrown away years of time, health, and perhaps even life itself. He continued to be tormented by hallucinations
until he died some years later in Rome. Staudenmaier’s experience is not unique.
People of every culture have sensed or encountered the reality of a personal,
supernatural, evil, spirit being. Some of the greatest writers of recent centuries are people who took the devil very seriously. Feodor Dostoevski, Charles
Baudelaire, Thomas Mann, Flannery O’Connor, and Georges Bernanos are
just a few examples. Satan also appears in areas untouched by Western
civilization with its Judeo- Christian heritage. Possibly the most striking satanic figures ever created are the viciously leering “fire gods” crafted 1,000 years before
Columbus by post-Olmec Indians. Jeffrey Burton Russell states: “Parallel formulations of the devil in diverse and widely separated cultures

Comment by Simon Dannie Yahweh, Yashua, the Holy Spirit, angels, human beings are all real. Satan was an angel, too. He was kicked out from Heaven because his character was changed to Evil. I recently have read that Lucifer was the chief Choir Leader in Heaven! Not any more: he detroys everything that is godly.

Simon Dannie
Satan is real but not the picture above! Satan is very beautiful, attractive, intelligent young man and young woman and attracts both sexes of all ages. He is extremely audacious, scrupulous and knows the word of God perfectly, can go to God any time, permitted to play around and fool Christians of all classes, including bishops, moderators, founders, directors, Bible college principals, professors, hypocrites on Facebook etc. Be careful, he is a roaring lion and can swallow YOU alive!

  2. How can a God of love send anybody to Hell ??????????
    We have our catalog of sins. We have rape and incest and murder ; and we have them all cataloged and classified--but there isn't one of them (or even put them all together in one big hunk) that comes close to the sin of keeping Jesus Christ out of your life. Did Jesus say, "I'm going to send the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin because they rob banks"-- or, "because they believe not on me"?

    It is folly to expect that you or I can trifle with the Lord Jesus and not have a penalty attached to it. What ridiculous thinking people have in this area! We expect penalties for doing much less. Life is just built that way.

    You jump off a high building, the law of gravity will take care of you. You might say, “God is love,” all the way down, but you're still going to get splattered when you hit the bottom! You break the law of gravity, and it breaks you! You may love your little child, but if he puts his finger up on that hot burner on the gas stove or the electric stove, he's going to get burned!

    Fire burns. Gravity kills. Water drowns. And you can say, "God is love, God is love, God is love," until you're blue in the face. But water will still drown you, fire will burn you, and gravity will kill you, and sin will damn you no matter how much you say about a loving God ~ Cecil Burns http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150451488774935&set=a.428196399934.215284.523159934&type=3

  3. Simon Dannie on Satan:
    Yahweh, Yashua, the Holy Spirit, angels, human beings, souls, and spirits are all real. Satan was an angel; too, in fact he was the boss/superior over all angels and just a step below God. He was kicked out from Heaven because his character/nature/temperament was changed to Evil. I recently have read that Lucifer was the chief Choir Leader in Heaven! Not any more: he destroys everything that is godly.
    Satan is very real /actual/existent and is very beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, striking, attractive, and intelligent/bright/smart/intellect and attracts both sexes of all age groups. He is extremely awfully, exceptionally/exceedingly/enormously/tremendously/ audacious, scrupulous and knows the word of God perfectly, can go to God any time, permitted to play around and fool Christians of all classes, including bishops, moderators, founders, directors, Bible college principals, professors, hypocrites on Facebook etc. Be careful, he is a roaring lion and can swallow YOU alive!
    Nobody can destroy him; if you or anybody thinks so, it is not correct. Some people pray and tell you that I burned him with fire, he is destroyed etc. etc. it is all false. You can drive him out of your life or house but he will come again. Unless the Holy Spirit is within you and God’s grace is surrounded I guarantee that Satan is always around you. When the light comes in, the darkness flees away and when the light is off, the darkness is filled again. It is same with the Holy Spirit. Either you are hot or you are cold, and not in between. Unless you are stronger than him, you are out! Don’t quote some Bible verses here. All Christians, nonChristians, hypocrites, pagans know the Bible very well and they don’t care about it. No use of knowing the Bible if you don’t practice it!
    Satan works closely with his enemies, the true Christians. He is not afraid of Christians because he knows in side out of every single “Christian”. You are naked before his eyes. You think he is afraid of the Bible or cross or crucifix. He knows that you don’t believe in the Bible! He knows you are an idolater, worshiping the crosses and crucifixes. Your life is not a Hollywood movie like Exorcist! Things don’t work that way. He can challenge/confront/dare you saying, “I know Paul and Peter but who are these professional Jokers with all that funny hanging clothes, crosses and crucifixes”? If you do not know the name of Jesus and the power in it, Satan knows how to kick you down. If your faith-power and your Bible word-power is not stronger than that of Satan’s, don’t play funny “healing games” with him. Don’t say God is more powerful than Satan. It is true. God is powerful but you don’t believe in HIM and you don’t have it!!!
    From waking up from bed to going to bed Christians kiss and hug Satan; they are in love with him; they do things that please him. Eyes, ears, lips, tongue, voice, hands, legs, feet, brains, mind, heart, money, vehicles, houses, jobs …and everything else is used to please Satan whole day long and night long. You will die before he dies. He has a job to do and he knows how to do it. He is more precise/accurate/clear cut than any pastor/preacher/teacher in this whole world. He uses the most modern/contemporary/up to date communication system and equipment/tools/apparatus.
    I am getting tired of writing this!
    What can you do about this?
    ‘RESIST THE DEVIL; HE WILL FLEE AWAY!’ You must continue to resist him!

  4. Job 41

    “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook,
    Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower?
    2 Can you put a reed through his nose,
    Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
    3 Will he make many supplications to you?
    Will he speak softly to you?
    4 Will he make a covenant with you?
    Will you take him as a servant forever?
    5 Will you play with him as with a bird,
    Or will you leash him for your maidens?
    6 Will your companions make a banquet[b] of him?
    Will they apportion him among the merchants?
    7 Can you fill his skin with harpoons,
    Or his head with fishing spears?
    8 Lay your hand on him;
    Remember the battle—
    Never do it again!
    9 Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false;
    Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him?
    10 No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up.
    Who then is able to stand against Me?
    11 Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him?
    Everything under heaven is Mine.

    12 “I will not conceal his limbs,
    His mighty power, or his graceful proportions.
    13 Who can remove his outer coat?
    Who can approach him with a double bridle?
    14 Who can open the doors of his face,
    With his terrible teeth all around?
    15 His rows of scales are his pride,
    Shut up tightly as with a seal;
    16 One is so near another
    That no air can come between them;
    17 They are joined one to another,
    They stick together and cannot be parted.
    18 His sneezings flash forth light,
    And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
    19 Out of his mouth go burning lights;
    Sparks of fire shoot out.
    20 Smoke goes out of his nostrils,
    As from a boiling pot and burning rushes.
    21 His breath kindles coals,
    And a flame goes out of his mouth.
    22 Strength dwells in his neck,
    And sorrow dances before him.
    23 The folds of his flesh are joined together;
    They are firm on him and cannot be moved.
    24 His heart is as hard as stone,
    Even as hard as the lower millstone.
    25 When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid;
    Because of his crashings they are beside themselves.
    26 Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail;
    Nor does spear, dart, or javelin.
    27 He regards iron as straw,
    And bronze as rotten wood.
    28 The arrow cannot make him flee;
    Slingstones become like stubble to him.
    29 Darts are regarded as straw;
    He laughs at the threat of javelins.
    30 His undersides are like sharp potsherds;
    He spreads pointed marks in the mire.
    31 He makes the deep boil like a pot;
    He makes the sea like a pot of ointment.
    32 He leaves a shining wake behind him;
    One would think the deep had white hair.
    33 On earth there is nothing like him,
    Which is made without fear.
    34 He beholds every high thing;
    He is king over all the children of pride.”
